About Red Baby Headbands & Bows

The shade that never needs an occasion

Red baby headbands and bows in cherry, rouge, coral, strawberry, punch and magenta, covering everything from a warm coral that behaves like a pink through to a deep cherry built for photographs. Red is the strongest colour in the range and the one that needs the least help from the rest of the outfit.

It earns its keep right across the calendar: Christmas, Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, every first birthday with a red balloon in the background, and the footy season for families who take that seriously. Against white, cream and denim it does the whole job unaided, which is convenient on a morning with no spare decisions left in it.

For the softer side of the same family, pink sits immediately next door, and the neutral bows balance a bold red out nicely. Christmas headbands and gifts gathers the festive styles in one place once December arrives. Australian owned, shipped from Melbourne.

Questions, answered

Which red suits Christmas and Lunar New Year photos?
Cherry and rouge for both, since the true reds read correctly against green foliage and against gold decorations without turning orange under warm indoor lighting. Coral and strawberry are lovely shades but photograph closer to pink, which is not what you want when the occasion is the whole point of the photo.
Is red too bold for a newborn?
Not at all, though it does change the photograph. Red draws the eye to the bow first and the face second, which is worth knowing before a professional shoot. For newborn portraits most people choose coral, which keeps the warmth without the contrast. For everything else, a red bow on a white onesie is hard to beat.
Does red fade in the Australian sun?
Faster than most shades, yes. Red pigment is the first to go under strong UV, so dry red bows in the shade rather than on a sunny line, and avoid leaving them on a car dashboard or a pram hood in full sun. Handled that way they hold their depth for years.
