About Blue Baby Headbands & Bows

From barely there to properly navy

Blue baby headbands and bows running powder blue, sky, light blue, cornflower, cruise and navy. The range covers the full depth of the colour, from a pale wash that barely registers in a photograph through to a navy that anchors an outfit the way black would, without the severity black brings to anything baby sized.

The pale blues are the newborn favourite, soft enough to sit beside new skin without adding contrast. The deeper end does something quite different: cornflower and navy give a bow structure and make it read as deliberate rather than decorative, which is useful when the rest of the outfit is doing very little.

Green and purple both sit next door on the colour wheel and work together more easily than you would expect. For a softer pairing, the white and cream bows are the obvious companion, and the full headbands and bows range carries every style in every shade. Australian owned, shipped from Melbourne.

Questions, answered

Which blue works best for newborn photos?
Powder blue and sky, almost always. Both sit close to the skin tones a newborn photographs in, so the bow frames the face rather than competing with it. Navy is better saved for a few months later, when there is more hair and more contrast to play with, and it photographs beautifully outdoors.
Will navy transfer onto light clothing?
Not under normal wear, but treat a brand new navy bow the way you would a new pair of dark jeans. Keep it away from a white christening gown for the first wear or two and wash it separately the first time. Damp fabric is where transfer happens, so dry it fully before it goes near anything pale.
Do blue bows work with blue eyes, or is that too matchy?
A little matchy, and it looks wonderful anyway, which is the honest answer. If you would rather not lean into it, the teal and cruise end picks up the eye colour without mirroring it, and cornflower sits in between. Nobody has ever complained that a photo was too coordinated.
