About Green Baby Headbands & Bows

The quiet achiever of the colour wheel

Green baby headbands and bows in sage, olive, laurel, pine, fern and mint, across cable knit, waffle and soft nylon. Green is the shade that reads calm rather than loud, which is why it has quietly taken over nurseries, prams and roughly half the baby photography in the country over the past few years.

It is also the most forgiving green range to dress around. Sage and oat go together with no effort at all, pine sits beautifully against cream and white, and mint lifts a plain summer outfit without shouting about it. Olive handles autumn, and every one of them survives a grass stain better than the pale shades ever will.

Green sits comfortably beside the neutral bows if you are building a capsule, and blue is the natural next step. For something with petals, the floral headbands cover the botanical end properly, and multipacks let you take three greens at once. Australian owned, shipped from Melbourne.

Questions, answered

Is green a safe gift when you do not know the baby's sex?
About as safe as it gets. Green carries none of the baggage pink and blue still drag around, so it works whether the nursery was decorated before or after the news. Sage and oat are the two shades most people reach for in that situation, and both sit happily on a gift table beside anything else.
Which greens suit which season?
Mint and fern feel like spring and summer, particularly against white cotton. Olive, pine and sage carry the colder months better, especially in cable knit where the texture does as much work as the colour. If you only want one green that never looks out of place, sage is the answer in every month of the year.
How does green sit against different hair colours?
Very well, which is part of the appeal. Olive and pine are striking against red and auburn hair, mint and sage are gentle on blonde, and the deeper greens hold their own against dark hair without disappearing into it. On a bald newborn, which is most of them, you are matching the outfit anyway.
