Your baby's favourite headband smells like yoghurt. The comforter has been dragged through the garden. The smock has seen things. Time for a wash — but how?
Headbands and Bows
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in a mesh laundry bag. Cold water. Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry. The nylon band will hold its stretch; the bow may need a gentle reshape. Avoid the dryer — heat can warp the fabric.
Cotton Comforters
Our comforters are machine-washable. Warm wash, gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low or lay flat. They get softer with every wash — which is actually a feature, not a flaw. Avoid fabric softener; it can reduce breathability.
Smocks
Wipe with a damp cloth after each use. For deeper cleans, hand wash or machine wash on gentle. The waterproof coating means most mess stays on the surface, so frequent full washes aren't necessary. Hang to dry.
Leather Shoes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Condition occasionally with a leather balm to keep the leather supple. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Never machine wash leather.
Sunglasses
Warm water and mild soap. Dry with a soft cloth. Store in a case or pouch to prevent scratching. Our sunnies are flexible but not indestructible — avoid sitting on them (looking at you, nappy bag).
General Tips
Treat stains immediately. The longer food sits, the harder it sets. A paste of bicarb soda and water works well on organic stains. Avoid bleach on coloured items.
