Baby shoe sizing is the Wild West. A size 3 from one brand fits like a size 2 from another. Nothing makes sense. Everyone's frustrated.
Let's simplify it.
How to Measure
Stand your baby on a piece of paper. Mark the heel and the longest toe. Measure the distance in centimetres. Compare that to the size chart on the product page. Always measure both feet — they're almost never identical — and go with the larger one.
When to Size Up
There should be roughly one centimetre (or a thumb's width) between the longest toe and the front of the shoe. If their toes are touching the end, it's time for the next size. Babies' feet grow approximately half a size every two to three months, so check regularly.
Why Soft Soles Matter
Our baby sandals are soft-sole by design. This means the shoe bends with the foot rather than restricting it. For first walkers, this is essential. Rigid shoes can actually hinder natural foot development and balance.
What About Width?
Baby feet are usually wider than adult feet proportionally. Our sandals accommodate this with an open design and adjustable closure. If your baby has particularly wide feet, going up half a size often provides the extra width needed.
Signs of a Bad Fit
Red marks on the skin. Reluctance to walk in them. Tripping more than usual. Constantly trying to remove them. If any of these happen, reassess the size or style.
